I have started to get back into drawing again but this  time with crayons.

I used to love drawing with crayons as a kid and I am by no means a real artist but the smell and feel of a crayon just brings a smile to my face. I particularly love Crayola Crayons because of their distinct texture. One of my fovorite crayon tricks is to cover a sheet of paper with lots of different colors until you can’t see any white and then cover all those colors in a solid wall of black so that you can only see black crayon. Then if you take a ten cent piece and scratch a picture out on the black surface you can see the multi-colored surface underneath. It’s cool!

I also like to take pictures of my friends in black and white and then trace over them with thin paper so it looks like I sketched them. They think that I drew them from memory and are really impressed. One friend was so impressed that she insisted on paying me $20 for her picture. I might even be able to earn extra cash with this technique.

And finally, I made a couple of water color paintings of abstract images which came out kind of funky but hey….experimenting is fun!

I love my crayons best though!
